tales from the west side: backbreaking work and late-nite antics, hikes to avalanche lake, polar bear plunges, boxed wine and blanket forts with grown-ups...

but these are outdated. by now our cleaning crew has moved east of the continental divide and back into the snow. it's blizzarding again, and i'm living in a plywood box across from st. mary lake. strange times.

there was an elaborate easter dinner, three days late, with some extra thanksgiving fixins.
there was a surprise snowstorm!
there was one final hurrah on the ski slopes, skiing in slush with my hand in a splint.
there was a mayday breakfast picnic on the living room floor: bratwurst and good beer and a hike up mt. helena.

today was my last day off. shortest off-season ever. tomorrow i drive to GLACIER.
